The Digital SAT is Coming Spring 2024 for Students in USA!
The SAT is going Digital! What's changing, and what's staying the same?
What's Changing
The digital SAT will be taken via a tablet or laptop. If you do not have your own device, you can request to borrow a College Board device before test day, and one will be provided on test day.
Shorter Testing: The paper SAT was 3 hours long. Now the digital SAT will only take 2 hours and 14 minutes!
Adaptive Testing: Both sections (reading/writing & math) will include two modules. Your performance on the first module of each section will determine the difficulty of the questions in the second module of that section.
Quicker results: Scores will be received just a few days after taking the test.
Shorter passages: The digital SAT features considerably shorter passages with a single question accompanying each passage.
Reading and Writing combined into one section.
Calculators are allowed for the entire Math section. There is an onscreen graphing calculator in the testing app, but you can also bring your own approved calculator.
What's Staying the Same
The same important knowledge and skills will be measured.
The digital SAT scoring will remain on the same 1600 scale.
The test will be administered exclusively at schools and testing centers. It is not an option to take the digital SAT at home.
Students needing testing accommodations will continue to receive them.
Price remains the same at $60.
